The Program

4 weeks/4 sessions - once a week, 2 hour sessions, 4th session is a live performance at Jazz Club or Music Venue
There will also be special guests that will come to talk with the class.

After you have completed the entire course, you may repeat sessions 3 and 4 (bringing in 4 new songs to work on and spotlighted in performance showcase) for $125. Payment is due before the program. Due to the personalized attention given to each student, class size is limited.

This will be an active participatory workshop devoted to the execution of vocal technique inside a complete performance arena.


This course is designed to help vocalists understand the performance techniques and business of entertainment. Through demonstration, observation and vocal exercises, I will show the participants how to identify and develop their own technique and style, use this knowledge to interact with an audience and create rapport, and build trust and establish credibility with other musicians inside the performance field.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, you will have a basic knowledge of vocal technique, style, and performance etiquette. You will be able to:

Identify and develop your own technique and style
Know how to connect the organic with the technical
Build a repertoire with an audience and fellow members in the band
Improve your live performance and
Know to promote your performances and develop working relationship with clubs owners

This workshop is for vocalists and instrumentalists alike.
Although this course is primarily designed for jazz vocalists (other genres are welcome)—its objective strongly highlights the performance aspect which is beneficial to instrumentalists who want to better understand the process of storytelling.

Cancellations and Substitutions

You may cancel your registration up to 10 business days before the program and we will refund your enrollment in full. Please note that if you do not cancel and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment. In case of illness, death in family or another valid excuse, you may participate in a future scheduled class and apply past payment.

Walk-in registrations will be accepted as space allows, but not recommended.
